When an event or business meeting involves participants who speak more than one language, accurate and professional simultaneous interpretation services allow negotiations and presentations to flow across linguistic boundaries.
Localize Africa provides simultaneous and consecutive interpretation services for conferences, meetings, legal proceedings, etc. Our team of interpreters makes it possible for you to effectively communicate with your customers and prospects in local markets in person and in their native language.
In consecutive interpreting (CI), the speaker is required to pause to allow interpretation — accuracy is greatly enhanced but the time needed is much greater. Usually the interpreter will sit or stand near the speaker.
Consecutive interpretation can be conducted in a pattern of short or long segments according to the interpreter’s preference. In short CI, the interpreter relies mostly on memory whereas, in long CI, most interpreters will rely on note taking.
Generally used for large conferences or meetings and/or environments where two or more languages are required, simultaneous interpretation is a much more complex and strenuous process than consecutive interpretation. Interpreters sit in an isolated booth, listen to the speaker through a headset, and speak the translation into a microphone, which is wirelessly transmitted to headsets worn by audience members.
